A jackpot to end the year.

Nine teams turned up for our last Pub Quiz of the year, and we hope they all had a blast. Each of the first three rounds had a different winner, and a different top team. The round three winner also took round four, and that secured their win. That team, 22 Days, 13 Hours to the End of the World. If the world is ending, this team is going out with a bang and a jackpot win. Congrats to them.

The new year starts with a fresh jackpot. Join us Wednesday at the Santa Fe Basque for Fresno's best Pub Quiz.

Tie Breaker, Tie Breaker

Last Wednesday, Adam & Ed returned to hosting and 7 teams went after the jackpot. Alana is Satan took the first two rounds, FKA Riker the third, and the Short Hares the fourth. The game finished tied on points, but Alana is Satan was closer on the tie breaker. However, they didn't take the jackpot, so it will begin to grow.

We hope to see you this Wednesday at the Santa Fe Basque.

Go Get it Guest Host!

Last Wednesday, Alana is Satan took over the hosting duties, created all the questions and quizzed you. I guess Satan never takes it easy, as the winning team had 20 points. Your regular hosts, Adam & Ed put together a team that was glad that it made it into the double digits, but not much else. Thanks to Alana is Satan for giving us a week off.

This Wednesday, Adam & Ed will return to the hosting duties. It's a fresh jackpot. We invite you to bring your friends, bring your brains, and give it your best shot at Pub Quiz.

The End is Near

This week we had a fun time and a guaranteed jackpot. Don't Bro Us If You Don't Know Us was good enough to win two rounds, but could only muster up a 2nd place finish. The winner on the night was 50 Days, 13 Hours to the End of the World. The snagged the win and the jackpot, so congratulations to them.

Next week, Adam & Ed will step aside from their hosting duties and join you all as participants. Alana is Satan will be creating the questions and running the show. And just like every time we have a guest host, it's a guaranteed jackpot. See you Wednesday.

Squid Again

It was a sorta slim night at Pub Quiz this week, attendance wise, but the challenge was there, and most teams were in contention. Four different teams won a round, and the Fire Squids won their second game in a row. But, for the second week in a row they didn't pull the jackpot. So, next game it is a GUARANTEED WINNING JACKPOT!

However, next Wednesday, the Santa Fe will be closed after 7 pm or the Thanksgiving holiday. So, the next Pub Quiz game, which will be a GUARANTEED WINNING JACKPOT, will be on 11/30. Join us then.

Fire!

Wednesday night offered us a chance to laugh, play trivia, grab a drink, and banter a bit. Four different teams won a round, but after round 2, it wasn't all that close of a game. This week, one team was, as they say, en fuego. That team: the Fire Squids. Maybe surprising even themselves, they lit up the scoreboard with 37 points, which really does take some work.

This week should be 50/50 jackpot odds, so build your best team and join us Wednesday night for Pub Quiz at the Santa Fe Basque. Teams of 1-6, $5 a person.

Sunday, November 6, 2016

Remember Remember the First Week of November

We had a small night of 6 teams going at it on Wednesday night. I mean, maybe game 7 of the World Series hurt our attendance a little, but those 6 teams gave it their best. Four different teams won a round (sorry 2 teams that didn't snag one) and we had a come from behind win. That's right, FKA Riker finished a half point ahead of three other teams. What a squeaker! However, no jackpot chip was pulled, so it'll keep building.

We hope you'll join us this Wednesday for a great night of Pub Quiz.

Also, a little heads up, there will not be Pub Quiz on November 23rd. The Santa Fe Basque will close at 7 that night due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Wednesday, November 2, 2016

What are you doing November 2nd?

Politics got you down? We suggest Pub Quiz.

Don't care about game 7 of stickball? We suggest Pub Quiz.

Want a stiff drink & good food? We suggest Pub Quiz.

Looking for something to do tonight? We definitely suggest Pub Quiz.

Join us tonight at the Santa Fe Basque for a fun game of Pub Quiz.

$5 a person, teams of 1-6.
Registration after 7:15, game at 8.

Mass Recap!

Ooops, we forgot to post some recaps lately.  Here they are!

10/26 game:
Eight teams went after it this week, and it was a close one at the top. Alana is Satan was dominant, taking 3 of 4 rounds. However, at the end of it all, it was only one half point separating the top two teams. Five Cocks and One Nasty Hair were contenders, but came up just shy. For the second week in a row, Alana is Satan were champions. However, unlike last week, they didn't win the jackpot. It will begin to build.
We hope you'll join us next Wednesday for another great game of Pub Quiz.

10/19 game:
Eight teams went to work this week in a tougher than usual game. Four different teams won a round, but Alana is Satan stayed up at the top all night long. Not only did they win the game, but they pulled the lucky jackpot chip to take that home as well. Fists Full of Pussy took our second place prize.
Next week, we'll start a fresh jackpot. We hope you'll join us at the Santa Fe Basque.

Quick Recap

To sum up last week, 11 teams, 4 round winners, 2 round ties, a come from behind win, no jackpot pulled. Pretty much everything we enjoy. Thanks to everyone that came and played, and hopefully you enjoyed the game. Congrats to Grab 'Em By the Hares on the come from behind win.

See you all Wednesday. Bring a friend, or tell you coworkers to come down and start a team so you can trash talk them!

Because They're A Winner

Sometimes the slowest updates on Pub Quiz are the best updates. Just kidding, sometimes we just put stuff off until later - like this update on last Wednesday's game.

Wednesday was a good game, and hopefully a fun game. Nine teams went at it. Four teams were lucky enough to take down a "Because You're a Winner" drink card, and when it was all said and done, FKA Riker was on top. It was the first week of a jackpot, and Riker engaged the correct chip to take down said jackpot. That left us with 3 teams in a tie for 2nd place. One team completely whiffed on the tie breaker question, and the other teams missed by the same amount, which sent us to the 'who turned it in first tie breaker,' which meant that Fuck the Red Sox were our second place team, and took home that prize.

We hope you'll join us next Wednesday at the Santa Fe Basque for a great game of Pub Quiz.

50/50 and You Weren't There?

This week was a surprisingly small crowd for a 50/50 jackpot week, but that didn't mean that it wasn't a fun game with lots going on. In Dog Beers, We've Only Had One dropped a perfect 10 on the crowd in round 1. FKA Riker engaged a 9 to take round 2. Spoiler Alert: Don King is Awful was not verbose, but they were round 3 winners with a 9. Alana is Satan closed out the night by winning a tough round 4 with 7. But who won it all?

Spoiler Alert: Don King is Awful took the crown on the night, and that meant they were winners for the second week in a row. This team frequently is near the top, if not the top, and are always a force to be reckoned with. They also had their lucky pants on this Wednesday, and snatched the jackpot chip, taking home the big bucks. FKA Riker took home the second place prize.

Next week we will be back at it, and it will be a fresh jackpot for you all to take your shot at.

Baskets and baskets

We would say it was another fun night of trivia over at the Santa Fe Basque this Wednesday. Pretty good scores were posted in rounds 1 and 2, and then a tough round 3 slapped everyone's brains around a bit. Going into round 4, there were 4 teams all within a half point at the top. A Basket of Deplorables mirrored their round 2 score of 9 in round 4, and it was enough to give them the win. Congrats go out to them. They were not able to pull the jackpot chip, so next week it's 50/50 on a good size pot.

Test your knowledge against the best next week at Pub Quiz!

We Don't Forget

Don't You (forget about me) - Simple Minds
What's Your Fantasy? - Ludicris
Up Where We Belong - Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warnes
Low - Flo Rida

If you asked either of your Pub Quiz hosts if those songs had been used in the 6.5+ years of PQ, they would say, "Of course." In fact, Ed was somewhat incredulous that none of those four had been used along the way. But, it's true. That's a little bit of the beauty of Pub Quiz: you never know if something you have known forever has been asked, or if your favorite song or guilty pleasure has been played.

In the game, one team grabbed a one point lead in the first round with a nice 9, and always maintained at least that point through the night. That team, Alana is Satan. After several weeks of Rabbits being up high, Alana is Satan has sort of grabbed hold of the hot team mantle. Will they continued to ascend to the heavens, or will they be dropped down to the depths?

On the jackpot, Alana is Satan missed the blue chip, so it will keep building. Next week, 1 blue and 2 red in the jackpot bag. Join us Wednesday for another great night of trivia.

The Winner is Not Always Obvious

Uh, we were busy on Friday, when we normally post recaps & stuff. Maybe it was an early holiday or something. So we'll post it today, as we enjoy the Labor Day holiday for reals.

August finished out with a fun match. 61 players on 13 teams competed against each other, trying to see who was the smartest in our quiz world. There were 13, but 2 teams really dominated. Alana is Satan won the first round, and tied for the lead on two others. Where's A Wall When You Need One? tied for the lead on two rounds and won round 3. Where's A Wall took the two time tie breakers in those tied rounds.

If you weren't there, and had to guess, you would probably think the team that won 3 rounds won the night. But, like some times before, it works out the opposite. Alana is Satan actually ended up with a point and a half lead and won the night. The didn't pull the jackpot, so it will begin to build, and next week there will be 1 blue and 3 reds in the jackpot bag.

We hope you'll join us in the this (possibly) short work week for a fun night of trivia on Wednesday at the Santa Fe Basque.

Back from the dead, eh?

This last Wednesday was one of our best since moving to the Santa Fe Basque. Thank you all for making it a great night.

In the game, there were four different round winners, which we always love. There were a few lead changes, which we love. And somehow, in round 4, five of the thirteen teams scored perfect 10's. After all the scores were tallied, Rabbit Resurrection was back from their death of last week, and were winners. The jackpot was 50/50 odds, and their luck continued by pulling the winning blue chip. Congrats to Rabbit Resurrection! Our consolation prize went to the Fire Squids for taking second place.

Next week, the jackpot will start fresh. Bring out your friends for another great night of trivia.

Squids Say Who

This week at Pub Quiz was our biggest night since we moved over to the Santa Fe Basque. Thanks for helping us make it a great time.

In the game this week, we painted a fat bulls eye on the team that usually a Rabbit, and like in the rabbit test, it died. The Fire Squids and Says Who? traded rounds on the night and they both ended up with 34 points at the end. The Squids were consistent on the night, with scores of 8 and 9 each round, whereas Says Who was a little more erratic, with 6, 10 8 and 10 to put them in the tie. The tie breaker question went to the Squids, who were the victors on the night. However, they didn't grab the jackpot chip, so it will keep growing.

We'll be back Wednesday for another great game of pub quiz. The jackpot drawing is down to 2 chips so build your best team and take your shot!

Lucky Rabbits

This week's Pub Quiz was a first week, and ten teams got after it. Four teams won rounds, but the game was always in the hands of Five Cocks and A Hare. They led after each round, and although they left the door open no other team could quite catch them. However, they didn't pull the jackpot, so that will begin to build.

In case you haven't noticed, this team is on quite a run. Although they've used some name variations, they have won the last 3 games, and 4 of the last 5. Can your team take them down? Give it a shot next Wednesday at the Santa Fe Basque with Fresno Pub Quiz.

The Hits Just Keep Coming

Ed may not sound like Steven Wright, but this week's music will have you feeling like you're listening to K-Billy's Super Sounds of the 70's.

Last Week Went Like This

Ten teams went at it this week, but for most of the night it felt like it was just one team. The first two rounds were close, but rounds three and four really blew the doors off the place for Six "Hareless" Cocks. They ended up winning by four points and got lucky with the jackpot. So, congrats on the game, and on their jackpot win.
We had a tie for second place, and had to ask an additional question for Alana is Satan and KHAAAAAAN! 2016. KHAAAAAAN! 2016 was closest to the correct answer, so they took down the second place prize.
Next week, the jackpot will start over and we hope you'll join us for a great game of Pub Quiz.

Saturday, July 23, 2016

We'll meet again.

Ten teams squared off this week for a first week jackpot. The country music of the week may have confused some for a bit, but overall the scores were not that far off the usual. This week saw a team get their first ever round win, which is always cool. FKA Riker took round 2, and then Five Cocks and a Hare showed that they're a team to be reckoned with every week by taking rounds 3 and 4. That's 2 wins in the last 3 weeks. They weren't lucky enough to pull that jackpot chip, so it will begin to build.

See you next Wednesday!

Classical, smassical.

Do you ever wonder why we don't play classical music at Pub Quiz? Here's an example from today:

Ed, who is on music this week, heard a fairly recognizable part of The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart. So, he started looking to grab the track. But when you look it up, it's a four act opera. And, depending on which version you were to buy, it's either broken into the 4 acts as "songs" or into many more smaller movements within each. So, if we grab a 15-20 second sample, is it from the whole opera? Is the title the act it's from? Or is it the smallest movement within the opera? That decision will affect the title and song length. And, we're just going to ask for the composer, since the "band" could be a ton of different options. And so, Ed moved on to something completely different. Find out where he went on Wednesday.

More Woo's Please

This week was a great week of Pub Quiz. Twelve teams went at it at the Santa Fe Basque. FKA Riker, Fire Squids and Los Jugadores Mas Finas all looked on their game in round 1. Woo Woo Woo Kenny Woo showed some real potential by grabbing rounds 2 and 3, while Riker and Los Jugadores faded. The Fire Squids hung tough though, and it was tie going into round 4 between Woo Woo Woo Kenny Woo and the Squids. Los Jugadores tried to claw their way back in, taking round 4 with a perfect 10, but the night belonged to Woo Woo Woo Kenny Woo. They took the win, and the night's jackpot! Congrats on both.

Thanks everyone that turned out for a night of great trivia. We hope to see you back next Wednesday.

Friday Recap on a Sunday

Let's recap:
Wednesday had twelve teams go after it. Four different teams won a round. We had a tie at the end. Five Cocks and a Hare won out over the Fire Squids, and despite some confident talk, they didn't pull the jackpot. Next week, 1 in 3 odds on the big prize. Join us at Santa Fe Basque.

They Just Keep Jugadoring.

We hope you had a good time Wednesday at Pub Quiz. Eight teams got into it for their shot at a week 1 jackpot. Several teams showed promise at the start, but rounds 3 and 4 separated the wheat from the chaff. That figurative wheat, Los Jugadores Mas Finas. They came within one half point of tying the highest score we've ever had in our 6.5 years of Pub Quiz. Congrats on that mix of big brains. Los Jugadores weren't lucky enough to pull the jackpot chip, so it will begin to build.

Come on out to Santa Fe next week for another great game of Pub Quiz.

things that make you go hmm, 2

Sometimes you eat healthy, sometimes you just have to have those chili fries. Sometimes it's locally grown, other times it's a national trend. Either way, we condone it.
BTW, the sampler platter at Santa Fe is amazing.

Things that make you go, hmmm

We're not saying that we're asking questions this week you can't refuse, but we also don't want you to be mumbling questions in a corner.

Friday, June 24, 2016

How lucky are you?

Nine teams turned up this week to take on each other and your pub quiz hosts. The USS Enterprise Doesn't Have a Parking Brake grabbed round one, but their smarts rolled away after that. FKA Riker rounds three and four and put themselves in a lead, but several teams were close enough to challenge in round 4. The Fire Squids were able to win round four, but were too far out to challenge for the win. Perennial second place, Alana is Satan, they finished third. And a half point seperated Sansa's Kennel Club and FKA Riker at the end. The winner, FKA Riker. And it was their night, taking down a second week jackpot. Congrats to them, and thanks to everyone for joining us.

Come back next week, we'll have fresh questions and a fresh jackpot. And if you want to get some more trivia in your life, check out Sequoia Pub Quiz on Monday nights.

Friday, June 17, 2016

#waifkillers

Your normal hosts returned to the front table and challenged your brains. Ten teams squared off, and some fared better than others, but hopefully everyone had some fun. The winner on the night was A Team Has No Name, who grabbed the last two rounds, but couldn't couldn't grab the jackpot winning chip. So, the jackpot will begin to grow.

Come on down to the Santa Fe Basque on Wednesday for some great trivia action.

Friday, June 10, 2016

Guests are Bests

This week at Pub Quiz we had a guest host. For those of you that don't know, a couple of times a year one of our regular teams moves up to the front table, writes all the questions, and runs that game. The Fire Squids took their first shot at those hosting duties and we think they did a fine job.

Round 1 scared everyone, with the high being a 6, a 0, a 2 and a couple of 3's by teams. But everyone seemed to get their brains going well enough and scores improved. When the dust settled, Alana is Satan was at the top with a 27 - which is only 3 points off what Adam & Ed shoot for on the winner score. Don't Stop Bernieving and Presumptive Winner Rabbits were tied for second and Don't Stop Bernieving was closer on the tie breaker. Every time there's a guest host it's a stand alone jackpot, so congrats to Alana is Satan for winning.

Next Wednesday, Adam and Ed return to their normal hosting duties, and the jackpot will start fresh. Join us over at the Santa Fe Basque for what we feel is the best pub quiz in Fresno.

Saturday, June 4, 2016

Bern So Good

The heat is on in Fresno, and the heat was on at Pub Quiz. Three of the four rounds came down to the time tie breakers, and two of those were three way ties. Your brains were working well this week. Feel the Sun Bern were the winners on the night, and they snatched the jackpot chip. Congrats on their win.
Next Wednesday, we'll have a guest host - the Fire Squids. It's their first time hosting, so hopefully they'll bring in a great mix of questions. Whenever we have a guest host, it's a winner take all match, so if you team wins, you're taking home that jackpot. We hope you all turnout for a good time.

Friday, May 27, 2016

Rikerific!

Eight teams chased the dream this week, and most teams had their shot at the top. Some teams bobbed up and down, but FKA Riker rode the waves just right, and we're the winners on the night. But their luck ended at the jackpot bag, pulling a red chip.

Next week it will be 50/50 odds on the jackpot. We'll have another great set of questions to challenge your brain. We hope you'll join us for Pub Quiz.

Sunday, May 15, 2016

The Bar is a Good Place to Be

Only 9 teams squared off this week at Pub Quiz, trying for that first week jackpot. 3 teams tied in round one, but that's when Blanca's At the Bar grabbed hold of the game with 9 in round two, and 9.5 in round 3. The other eight teams tried to stay close, but Blancas were the winners. However, they didn't take down the week one jackpot, so it will begin to grow.

Come on down to Santa Fe Basque on Wednesday, have a bite to eat, a drink or two, and test your wits against Fresno's best.

Sunday, May 8, 2016

Noooooo!!!!!!

Jackpot nights always bring out the best in your. Or, the most competitive. Ten teams went for it, four teams won rounds, and in a fitting twist, it was tied at the end of the match. What are the odds? Alana is Satan and Trump: Because All Civilizations Eventually Come to an End faced off for one last question. Both missed it, but Trump was closest and took the prize. Is that a prediction for November?

Next week, the jackpot starts fresh. Come on down to Santa Fe Basque, have a bite to eat, a drink or two, and test your wits against Fresno's best.

We Will Remember

Another good week of Pub Quiz this last Wednesday. Eleven teams challenged their knowledge and each other over at the Santa Fe Basque. The game moved around, and four different teams won a round. The lead moved around just as much, and when it was all said and done, Never Forget 7-11 dispensed a 10 in round four and grabbed the win. However, they didn't snatch the winning chip, so next week it will be 50/50 odds on the jackpot.

We hope you'll join us at the Santa Fe Basque for Fresno's best pub quiz next week. Take your shot for the win and for the jackpot.

Monday, April 18, 2016

Last Week's Recap

Last week, 5 of the 7 teams playing scored above an 8 in round 1. Your hosts, Adam and Ed thought maybe we had been too easy on you all. After that, no team scored above a 7 in any round. So, things got a little tougher. Rabbits Holding Out for Ringo Star held on to the lead pretty well for the first three rounds, but the Fire Squids grabbed a share of the lead in round 3 and inked out enough in round 4 to win the night. However, they didn't pull the jackpot chip, so Wednesday there will be 2 red chips and the jackpot chip in the bag.

We'll see you Wednesday at the Santa Fe Basque.

Real Close But So Far

It was a fun night last Wednesday at Pub Quiz. Eleven teams squared off over at the Santa Fe Basque. I Bet the Republican Has Air Conditioning grabbed the lead early, and stayed in first place all night. In an interesting twist though, they never won a round due to time tie breakers. And, at the end of the game, we had a tie at the top, with Alana is Satan pulling into the top spot as well. After our tie breaker question, Alana is Satan was deemed the winner. However, they were not successful in pulling the jackpot chip, so that will begin to build.

Join us next Wednesday for another great game of Pub Quiz at the Santa Fe Basque.

Sunday, April 3, 2016

It Would Be

It was a smaller night at Pub Quiz this week, which might have helped out some teams since it was a 50/50 drawing on the jackpot. However, Wouldn't President Trump Be Punishment Enough didn't leave it close. They grabbed the lead in round 1 and never let it go. Even with an "off" round four of 7, they still won handily. They were also lucky enough to snag the jackpot chip.

Next week, the jackpot starts over, and we'll hit you with more high quality trivia. We hope you'll join us at the Santa Fe Basque on Wednesday.

Mas Finas Win

Another good week of Pub Quiz at our new home, the Santa Fe Basque. Four teams jumped out with 9 points in round 1 and it looked like it could be a crazy, high scoring game. However, the remaining rounds calmed the scoring down a little. After round 2, two teams had separated themselves away a little from the pack. They stayed tied after round 3, but a perfect 10 in round 4 pulled Los Jugadores Mas Finas solely into first place and the win. However, they didn't pull the jackpot chip. So, next week it'll be 50/50 odds on a nice jackpot.

See you next Wednesday!

Sunday, March 20, 2016

Welcome to our new home

Wednesday was our first Pub Quiz at our new home - Santa Fe Basque. Their will be a little bit of a learning curve as we figure out how to best arrange the room for our players, but we think everyone had a good time.

The game started as a close match between Are Landmark Tokens Good Here? and Alana is Satan, as they traded wins for rounds 1 & 2. The Fire Squids made a run to get back in it, taking down round 3. However, Alana is Satan conjured up a 10 in round 4 to really shut down the competition. However, they didn't pull the jackpot, so next week there will be 2 reds + the jackpot chip in the bag.

See you next Wednesday at the Santa Fe Basque. Check out the food, and super cheap beers & cocktails.

Registration starts at 7:15, game at 8. Teams of 1-6, $5 a person.

Bye Bye to the Old, and Hello to Something New

Wednesday, March 9th was our last night at the Landmark. 69 players turned up and got turnt up on some trivia. Wabbits Weaving Wandmark grabbed the lead early on, but only could end up in 3rd by the end of it all. Don't Bro Me if You Don't Know Me made a valiant push for the win, but came up short. Trump's Tiny Hand Job grasped the win on the night. However, the jackpot slipped through their fingers and so the jackpot will start building.

Next week, we move to our new location - the Santa Fe Basque. If you don't, it's on Maroa, just south of Shields. The best way to get there is from the south. The address is 3110 N Maroa. If you want to check out their website, click here http://www.santafebasque.com/

We Don't Have Census Results for China

Last Wednesday we announced that Fresno Pub Quiz is moving, and it's true. Next Wednesday, March 9, will be our last night at the Landmark. Starting on March 16 we will have Fresno Pub Quiz at the Santa Fe Basque. They are located at 3110 N Maroa (that's Maroa & Shields, just south of the Shell station with the great beer selection). If you want to check out their website, click here http://www.santafebasque.com/

Last week's match was a fun one, and teams scored nicely for a week 1 of a jackpot. However, 1 team rose up above to make Pub Quiz great again. They took two rounds, and were in tie breakers for the other two rounds. "China has a Wall, and They Have Almost No Mexicans" - Donald Trump...Probably was our winner on the night. And, they made their wallets great by sagging that jackpot chip. Alana is Satan was second place on the night, and congrats to them on the consistency.

Remember, we'll see you next Wednesday at the Landmark, and then at Santa Fe Basque on the 16th.

No License Required

Last week on The Walking Dead, Rick et al went HAM on some zombies. At Pub Quiz, you all did a pretty good job against a surprisingly tough week 1. The 18 Year Old Gynecologist also was strong on the night, taking round 1 with a 9.5 and round 4 with a 10. That's a pretty good way to win Pub Quiz. However, their inspection of the jackpot chips wasn't as conclusive, and they didn't win that. That jackpot will keep growing.

Come on down to the Landmark and take your shot. As always, teams of 1-6, $5 a person.

You Have the Right Code

It was 50/50 odds on the jackpot and as we stepped our game, you all responded rather well. FKA Riker took a round, We're Number 2, We're Still Shitty took a round, but Domo Arigato, Rubio Roboto was the class on the night, taking 2 rounds, the win, and the jackpot. Congrats to them and their programmers. That means next week our jackpot starts fresh. Take your shot at an easy 'pot.

We need to encourage you to use the round winner tokens. They're only good on Wednesday, and there is a limited supply. If we want the Landmark to keep using them, we need to keep them in circulation. If you win one and aren't going to use it any time soon, we encourage you share the love with a fellow player in the room.

Lots of Caucuses

Once again thirteen teams tested themselves against each other and your Pub Quiz hosts on a Wednesday evening at the Landmark. And one team showed they were more than up for the test. Caucus? You Don't Even Know us scored perfect ten's in rounds one and two, and lost round 3 with a nine in our time tie breaker. They did enough in round four to hold off the competition, and finished with a very good score of 34 points. Hard to beat that. Several of the top teams were in the mix, but that team was above the rest. However, they weren't lucky enough to pull the jackpot, so next week it will be 50/50 odds on the jackpot pull.

We hope you'll join us for another great game of Pub Quiz next Wednesday. And if you're looking for a game before that, we recommend Sequoia North Pub Quiz on Monday night.

You Wouldn't Have a Child If it Wasn't for Me

We almost doubled up our teams this week, with thirteen groups getting down in the back of The Landmark for some Pub Quiz. Fire Squids Are Your O.G. and You Will Respect Us As Such grabbed a two point lead in round one and never looked back. FKA Riker and I'd Like To Order a Beer tried to keep it close, and Fox in the Rabbit Hole took the last round, but the Squid was too strong. But, their fire was extinguished when it came time to pull the jackpot, next week there will only be 3 chips in the bag.

We will now get back to our creative process and see you next Wednesday for Pub Quiz.

Ties, Ties, Ties

We had a tidy little game of Pub Quiz this last week. Seven teams squared off at the Landmark. The first two rounds had some strong scores across the board. FKA Riker used perfect 10's in rounds 2 and 4 to take a top spot, and Alana is Satan had a 10 in round 2 and strong scores in each round to also be at the top. FKA Riker won our tie breaker, but didn't pull the jackpot, so that will start to grow.

We hope to see you next Wednesday at the Landmark. And if you want some trivia on Monday night, check out our friends at Sequoia North.

Do You Want Me to Buy Applesauce?

This week's Pub Quiz started with our players questioning if they could win the Powerball jackpot, our jackpot, and we suppose that one team was asking if they could win their fourth game in a row.

The game was a nice one, with 4 different teams pulling in a round win. There were several round ties, and the lead moved around a bit. After 4 rounds, we had a tie at the top. Perennial bridesmaid, Alana is Satan was there, and a regular team trying out their own new name of Bye Motts...Hello Wins was their. And closest to the elevation of Cripple Creek, Colorado was Bye Motts...Hello wins. This was that team's first time winning, and they capped the night by grabbing the jackpot. Alana is Satan took home the consolation second place prize.

Next week, we'll start a new jackpot run. Bring your team, your quirky knowledge, and have a good time with us.

Also, the new Landmark owners have informed us that they'll only be accepting the round winning chips on Wednesday nights, and are encouraging you to use them the night you win them. We hope we'll see you next week at Pub Quiz!

Al B Sure We Might Have a Winner Next Week

We kicked off the calendar year, and we're quickly closing in on finishing up our sixth year of hosting Fresno's best Pub Quiz. This last week, we had ten teams square off. The game was a fun one, and it had it's twist and turns and stayed close throughout. When the four rounds were done and dusted, we had a three way tie between 20 Megatons of Kimchi, Alana is Satan and the Fire Squids. Alana is Satan was closest on our tie breaker question, but they didn't snag the jackpot chip. So, that means next week will be 50/50 odds - which is way better than a powerball drawing. Of course, the payout is a lot smaller, too, but we hope you join us on Wednesday to take your shot.

If you want to practice, warm up your brain, or just get more trivia in your life, we also recommend you check out our friends Sequoia Pub Quiz, which is Monday night's at Sequoia North.

One final word of encouragement - keep using those tokens so we keep them in circulation.

Doctor, Doctor

We hope you had a wonderful NYE and are closing out this holiday season in style. And thanks to everyone that played Pub Quiz with us this year.

In our last game of the year, on December 30th, thirteen teams squared off at the Landmark. 4 different teams won rounds, and we had a couple of round ties decided by song length speculation. And when it was all over, the winning team was the same as the previous two games. Yep, 2015 was closed out by a 3 game streak. This week, that team was named Misdiagnosis - Turns Out the Affluenza was Actually Assholitis. But, like last game, they were unable to pull the jackpot so it will keep growing.

Our next game will ring in the new year on January 6th, 2016. We hope you'll join us.

And, if you're looking for a little trivia before that, our friends at Sequoia Pub Quiz kick off on Monday, January 4th.
