No Arrested Developments

Fourteen teams turned up for Pub Quiz this week, and maybe a few of you even got turnt up.  Josh Duggar's 19 Kids & Counting touched a new level in rounds 1 & 2 and had an early lead. However, they couldn't keep it up for the rest of the night. Rabbits with Bad Habits looked had round 3, and FIFA: Fuck! I'm Fucking Arrested captured round 4.  But one team snuck up on everyone for the win. Do Re Mi Fi Fa Giv Me Do stood tall, and despite just missing out on every round were consistent enough to win.  That consistency lasted through the jackpot pull, and they took home our big prize.  FIFA: Fuck! I'm Fucking Arrested ended up in second, so they got their entry back.  Congrats to everyone on the night for another fun game.

Next week we're back at our normal time & place for another great night of Pub Quiz.  If you can't wait until Wednesday, check out Sequoia North's Pub Quiz on Mondays.

What sort of Habbits?

We had a densely packed room the other night at Pub Quiz. There were only twelve teams, but they were all teams of 5 or 6.  The room had a good energy, and every team scored 7 or better in round 1. In fact, 8 teams scored 8 or better.  Round 2 was a bit tougher for most teams, but at that point the leaders were at 17.5.  In round 3, Westeros Rape Crisis Hotline moved into first all by themselves but were unable to hold on for the win. That honor went to Rabbits with Bad Habits.  However, their habits weren't bad enough to help them pull the winning chip.  Next week it will be 1 in 4 odds.

A little hint (very little) about next week's songs - two of the songs were recorded in the same year. The other two songs were released 30 years later.  The latter two mentioned were released after we began Pub Quiz.

For those of you that like to plan far in advance, the Landmark will be closed for its annual vacation July 4th though 12th.  As always, we'll be off that week as well.

Royals Ship the Best

Fun night at Pub Quiz this week. We know it was at least one person's birthday, and another person's was the next day. How do we know this?  Well, If You Were a Vegetable..I'd Pull the Plug had a birthday celebration going on.  And, they jumped out quick, taking rounds 1 and 2.  Ok, Now I'm Shipping Kate Blanchett & Kate Middleton had a birthday on Thursday.  They snagged rounds 3 and 4, and crept by for a half point win.

When it was time to pull the chip on the night, Ok, Now I'm Shipping Kate Blanchett & Kate Middleton sent up their soon to be birthday girl who plucked the lucky blue chip from the bag.  Congratulations to them, and heads up, next week we start building the jackpot again. Come help us make it grow.

Another congrats goes out to Pub Quiz Honeymoon, who were really celebrating their honeymoon on Wednesday, but did have members get married over the previous weekend.  If you've got events going on in your life, we love celebrating them with you. #pubquizfamily

See you next Wednesday at Pub Quiz!

Down the Rabbit Hole

It was a great first week of a new jackpot. Seventeen teams squared off at the Landmark.  Two teams jumped out to a perfect score in round 1, followed by another 5 teams that were within 1 point. Another 4 teams were within another point, making 11 of the 17 at 8 or above in round 1. After round 2, one team was still perfect with 20 points, but #donttalkaboutanohitter.  Yep, that team couldn't win every round or be perfect in every round, but Keep Your Deflated Balls Out of My Rabbit Hole Pardner did win the night. These rabbits are proving to be one of the constant top teams, so watch out for their bite.

Keep Your Deflated Balls wasn't able to pull the jackpot chip, so next week the odds get better and the jackpot gets bigger. We hope you can join us for Pub Quiz. As always, teams of 1-6, $5 a person.

Game, Set, Match

Pub Quiz this back this week without any sound issues. There were two red chips and one blue chip in the bag.  Fourteen teams squared off over four rounds. Endless Love: The Story of Helen Keller and Stevie Wonder's Tennis Match swung hard and took round 1.  The question would be if they could hold off several very good teams.  The lead closed to as little as one half point, but when it was all said and done, Endless Love won by a point. They capped their night off by taking down the jackpot.

Next week, the jackpot starts fresh.  We hope you come out, join us, and take your best shot at winning it all.
