Chilled Through the Screen

This week at Pub Quiz we had 91 players turn up and turn out a good game.  We had 4 different round winners, and the team that won on the night didn't actually win a round. Winter on TV was consistent enough to slide past two teams and win by one half point.  However, they didn't grab the winning chip.

Next week, we hope for another great turnout.  The jackpot bag will have 1 blue and 2 reds in it.  As always, registration begins at 7:15, teams of 1-6 players, $5 a person.

Motion Granted

It was a good week at Pub Quiz. You all weren't too wore out from Mardi Gras & a long weekend and brought out your brains for Pub Quiz.  Fourteen teams got after each other and when it was all said and done, two teams needed to be separated with a tie breaker.  Motion to Strike was a little bit closer on it, and claimed victory over Queen Killer Rabbit and Her Warrens.  As for the jackpot, it was the first week and Motion to Strike didn't pull the blue chip. So, next week, it'll be 1 in 4 odds on a growing jackpot.

We hope you'll join us next Wednesday night for a great night of trivia. Bring yourself and your friends and see if you can take down these top teams.

Yeah, Ethics

We hadn't gotten all the way down to one chip since last October, so we were really excited to have a guaranteed jackpot. Apparently, you were, too.  83 players made up 15 teams, all trying to hit a top score and win the jackpot. The round wins spread around the room pretty well, but one team grabbed an early lead and held everyone off. It's Actually About Ethics in Crusades Journalism ended up with a nice score of 35 at the end of the night and that was more than enough to secure the win and the jackpot.  Imma Let You Finish But... came in second, and took home the second place prize.

Next week, the jackpot starts building again. We hope you'll come out and join us at the Landmark.  If you need to scratch your trivia itch before next Wednesday, check out Sequoia North Pub Quiz on Monday night.

It Was Not the End Times

It was a great game of Pub Quiz this week. We had 97 players, on 18 teams. That's not close to our record numbers of a few summers back, but it's a dang good crowd. Your Eschatology Can Kiss My Left Behind jumped out strong, with perfect 10 point rounds in 1, 2 and 3. At that point, they looked unbeatable. The crazy thing, is that even with that score, they didn't win round 3, and won round 1 on the time tie breaker. It was a high scoring, but close game. However, when it was all said and done, Your Eschatology did enough to hold on to a lead. They set our new high score record of 38 points.  Second place went to The Killer Rabbits of Fresburg with 36 points, which is up there as one of the other highest scores ever.

On the jackpot, it was 50/50 odds and there were probably 91 players in the room that didn't want to see a blue chip pulled. Their collective wills must have had an effect, because a red chip was drawn.  That means that next week will be a guaranteed jackpot.  You can anticipate another packed house, so don't wait until the last minute to show up.  Registration starts at 7:15, but there's no reason why you can't show up earlier, have some food and a drink to make sure you get your table & chairs.
