Zigga Zagga

Last week, your quiz masters just about gauged the crowd right, and the winning team almost hit our target score for a winner - they were a half point above where we aim at 30.5. That team was This is Not a Lee Harvey and Jack Ruby Occasion. Although they were on target there, they missed the jackpot draw, so it's growing.

Tonight, we're ready to be lords of the literature, lords of the dance, lords of the lyrics, or maybe just the lords of dogtown. Will your quizmasters feel like they're wearing the crown at the end of the night, or will you?

Build your team, and we'll see you at the Santa Fe Basque tonight!

You Signed Up Like This

Last week's game didn't end up with another jackpot win, but it did end up with the same team winning. We Know What We Signed Up For switched up their name for the 3rd week in a row, and despite being trailing in 3rd place going into round 4, they jumped over the competition for the win. As mentioned before, they didn't win the jackpot though, and so that will begin to grow!

See you tonight at the Santa Fe Basque.
Registration after 7:15
Game starts at 8

$5 a person, teams of 1-6.

Winner, Winner, Two Times the Chicken Dinner

Over the last two Wednesdays, the same team ended up winning, and both weeks ended with them pulling the jackpot chip! One week they were Trump: The Quicker Fucker Upper, the next they were Harvey Weinstein Watched Us Shower, and regardless of the name, they were winners.

Can your team break their hold on the game and the jackpot? Find out tonight at the Santa Fe Basque.

We should update this more often

If you're ever interested in a good story, ask Jay from Alana is Satan about their win and 2nd place finish percentages. He has meticulous notes on the subject. Last week, one of those numbers changed a little, as Alana is Satan won the first round and then managed to keep at least a share of the lead for the whole game and take the win. They didn't take that week 1 jackpot though, and so it begins to grow. And with 10 teams last week, it was a decent jackpot.

Tonight, there are 3 losing chips in the jackpot bag, along with the winning chip. Build yourself the best team, treat your self to a good meal or some great drinks, and take your best shot at the win!

Cheesey and wet, but not a jackpot winner.

Last Wednesday at Pub Quiz had 7 teams squaring off for quiz supremacy. (Can 7 teams = a square off?) We had some new teams, some old teams, some familiar teams. We had two rounds that were decided by the time tie breaker. And we had a team with a name that you will hate stay up at the top all night long. They didn't win all four rounds, but Moist Smegma oozed their way to the win. However, they didn't take home the cheese. That means, this week's jackpot is 50/50!

See you tomorrow night.

Riker Engages the Win

This week's Pub Quiz seemed like a pretty fun one. FKA Riker and the Fire Squids were tied for the lead for the first two rounds, but only Riker won a round in that mix. Neither team won rounds 2 or 3, and somehow after that 3rd go, the Squids were in the lead by 2 points. But alas, you have to play all 4 quarters of four round games, and it looks like the Squids went to sleep at the wheel. Or, they slipped up on a banned condiment. We're not sure what a baseball team would have scored it, but that error allowed FKA Riker to dance into the lead, and the win. Riker must like drama, as they pulled a red chip, so the jackpot will keep growing.

See you next Wednesday for Fresno Pub Quiz.

Welcome Back, and I Guess Goodbye?

Last Wednesday was a week 1 in our jackpot run, and one team was a bit ahead of everyone all night long. Phatalie Phare Well won rounds 1 and 4 with 9 points each, and did well enough in rounds 2 and 3 to stay in first all night long. Fredos All the Way Down gave it a good run, and joined 1st place after round 3, but their luck ran out and Phatalie Phare Well was our winner. However, they didn't pull the jackpot chip, so it will begin to grow like a friendship.

We hope you'll take your shot at a round, the game, or the jackpot on Wednesday night. As always, it's $5 a person, and teams of 1-6 people. Registration starts around 7:30, the game kicks off at 8.

No Pub Quiz 7/5

Just a reminder, no Pub Quiz tonight at the Santa Fe due to their vacation hours.  We'll be back on 7/12.

Is it a new canal?

This week at Pub Quiz was hot fire! Or, Ed was just sweating like it was. 8 teams registered for the game and went after a decent jackpot. One team took down two rounds, another team took the other two, but five of the eight teams were within 2 points. Three teams actually tied for second place. The game was won by A Man, A Plan, A Canal, Panama, but they failed to snag the jackpot chip. Next week, it is a one in three chance at the jackpot. We hope to see you at the Santa Fe Basque.

Just a heads up, there will be no Pub Quiz on July 5th. The Santa Fe will be closed for their annual vacation week.

See you soon...

Over the course of seven-and-a-half years, we've used something in the neighborhood of 1400-1500 songs as round questions. Frequently, those songs get rotated into our background music. Also quite frequently, people hear those songs and ask why we never use THAT song in a round. Oh but we have, dear quizzers! But we understand you can't be at every game (not even Adam or Ed have perfect attendance).
So this week, we'll give you another crack at four of them. One each, from the last four decades, including the current one.

We All Feel A Little Sick

We had another fun week at Pub Quiz. Mildly Nauseous jumped out to an early lead and never surrendered it. They won 3 of the 4 rounds on the night, but not the jackpot.

For the big news of the night, Pub Quiz is going on vacation. NO QUIZ ON MAY 10TH OR 17TH. Yep, we're going to watch some soccer, and we think you should join us. Pub Quiz will be back on May 24.

Please keep checking in to our Facebook over the next 2 weeks, as we will be posting some questions, polls and other stuff.

The Finest Players in Fresno

Another week of Pub Quiz brought 6 teams out to show off their smarts. Alana is Satan started the night off with a round win, and I Broke My Nose Picking Finger ended the night with a round win, but Los Jugadores Mas Finas took the middle two rounds and the game. They also snagged the jackpot chip so congrats to them on their big win.

Next week brings a fresh jackpot and we hope you'll join us.

How Do Amish Electric Fireplaces Work?

Los Jugadores Mas Finas were on a run, looking to make it a whole month in a row of winning Pub Quiz. But early on, this game, and the rest of the teams playing showed that it wasn't to be. Three different teams took down rounds, and the trio of Amish Electricians showed they had the right mix of smarts on the night. They ended up with a 1.5 point lead, and a high score of 27 points. That's a little lower than usual, but that was still enough to get the win. Sadly for them, the jackpot chip was on rumspringa, and ran away. Next Wednesday, the jackpot will grow a bit more, and there will be 1 jackpot chip along with 2 loser chips in the bag.

Build yourself a winning team, or a fun drinking team, or whatever kind of team you want to spend your Wednesday with and join us for Pub Quiz at the Santa Fe basque.

Can You Stop the Winning

Last Wednesday was a 6 team game, and a reminder to us to read the rules and team names before we get rolling. I mean, at least it gives teams enough time to get into the room. The game was fairly close, with 3 of the 4 rounds being decided on the time tie breaker. And it's official, Los Jugadores Mas Finas are on a bit of a run, winning the last three weeks in a row. but unlike last week, they didn't pull the jackpot, which was in its first week.

We hope you'll join us on Wednesday for Fresno's best pub quiz.

Lyrical Gangsters Unite!

Hopefully someone on your team loves to sing all the words to songs in their cars (or in between rounds).

Tuesday, March 21, 2017

Boardroom behavior?

Does your team run like a corporation, a democracy, or an occupy wall street gathering?

Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?

Put your team on the map by winning Pub Quiz this week!

Paradox?

Sometimes you Pub Quiz team is a real beauty. Other times, it's a beast.

It seems like both of those things are good, right?

Jackpot

Last Wednesday was a guaranteed jackpot to the winning team. The game was close all night, but only two teams had the pleasure of winning rounds, which they traded back and forth. When it was all over, second through fifth place were within 2 points of each other, but the top team had pulled away for the win. Congrats to Los Jugadores Mas Finas for winning the game and the jackpot.

That means this week the jackpot will start fresh this Wednesday. We hope you'll come out for some great trivia and fun with friends.

And the winner is...

Another week, another 8 teams went after the glory of winning Pub Quiz! It wasn't really that dramatic, but 8 teams did have fun playing Pub Quiz. Three of those 8 teams won a round, with Forget it Jake, It's La La Land taking two rounds and the win. And fortunately for them, we didn't announce that really another team won it. However, they didn't pull the jackpot chip.

This means that the upcoming game will have 50/50 odds on the jackpot. That's pretty good, right?

See you Wednesday at the Santa Fe Basque for some great Pub Quiz!

Make Mordor Great Again

Last week brought 8 teams out to jockey for the jackpot, but they all walked away empty handed. 4 of those teams won a round. The lead shifted around just a little bit. A Small Loan of a Million Orcs succeed, but remember, they did it all on their own. But like we mentioned in the intro, they didn't win the jackpot.

This Wednesday, there will be 2 red chips and that beautiful blue chip waiting for you try and win. Bring your friends, your brains, and your friend's brains.

Saturday, February 18, 2017

Riker, Riker, Riker

This week's Pub Quiz started a fresh jackpot run. The game started, and Alana is Satan took the first two rounds, but other teams trailed them closely. I Love You, Uncle Ed grabbed a piece of our hearts and the third round because they had great (correct) answers, not because we're overly sentimental. FKA Riker took round 4, and used quality rounds 3 and 4 to take the win. But they didn't snatch the jackpot chip, so it begins to grow.

We hope you join us next Wednesday for another fun Pub Quiz match. Build your best team like a bear at the mall, or buy yourself a new friend like a mail order doll. Whatever it takes. See you Wednesday.

Riker Steals the D

Last Wednesday was a fun night and a 50/50 jackpot. 8 teams squared off, and the winner ended up a half point ahead of 2nd place. Those teams tied for rounds 1 and 3, and both times Trump Wants the Easy D won on the the time tie breaker. But, FKA Riker was a point better in round 2, and that more or less won them the game. And it was a good thing for them, as they pulled the jackpot chip! Congrats.

Tonight, we start a new jackpot run at Fresno Pub Quiz. We hope you'll join us for what we think is Fresno's best Pub Quiz.

Recap Squirt

We hope you had another fun week at Pub Quiz. We had ten teams show up and display their smarts in a variety of topics. G'Day Mate! tried to hang up on the competition by winning the first two rounds. The Fire Squids lit up round 3, and Los Jugadores Mas Finas were pretty fine as they took round 4. When all the math was done, the Fire Squids topped the room, but couldn't pull the jackpot chip. So, next week it's 50/50 odds on a nice jackpot.

We hope you will join us next Wednesday for a great game of Pub Quiz!

Say It Enough and It Is True

This week, we had a great turnout of eleven teams at Pub Quiz. Three different teams won a round, and a few others just missed out on that time tie breaker. The lead in the game moved around, we had some ties at the top but ultimately Alternative Facts: You Come In Last and Win had enough truth in their lives to be the winners. However, they didn't pull the jackpot, so next week there are only 2 reds and 1 blue chip in the bag.

We hope to see you at Pub Quiz next Wednesday, and check back during the next week for any updates, info and maybe even hints.

It was our anniversay

Thanks to everyone that came out and played Pub Quiz this week and helped us to celebrate 7 years of fun! Also, thanks to everyone that has played with us over those 7 years.

In the game, the Fire Squids started out hot and wet, and won the first two rounds. Los Jugadores Mas Fines grabbed the third round. Alana is Satan rose up from the depths to grab round 4. Who would win on the night? It was Los Jugadores, who won the night, and were suave enough to pull the jackpot chip. Congrats to them for both of those things.

Next week, the jackpot will start all fresh. Check back between now & Wednesday for any info for the night.

Change the rules when no one is looking.

We kicked off the new year with six teams going after a fresh jackpot. The four rounds were won by three teams that usually know what they are doing. Fuckin' Ethics, How Do They Work took two rounds and the win on the night, but it did come down to a tie breaker question at the end. However, they didn't pull that jackpot chip, so the new year begins with a building jackpot.

Join us next Wednesday for your chance at that jackpot and a great game of Pub Quiz.
