Last Week Went Like This

Ten teams went at it this week, but for most of the night it felt like it was just one team. The first two rounds were close, but rounds three and four really blew the doors off the place for Six "Hareless" Cocks. They ended up winning by four points and got lucky with the jackpot. So, congrats on the game, and on their jackpot win.
We had a tie for second place, and had to ask an additional question for Alana is Satan and KHAAAAAAN! 2016. KHAAAAAAN! 2016 was closest to the correct answer, so they took down the second place prize.
Next week, the jackpot will start over and we hope you'll join us for a great game of Pub Quiz.

We'll meet again.

Ten teams squared off this week for a first week jackpot. The country music of the week may have confused some for a bit, but overall the scores were not that far off the usual. This week saw a team get their first ever round win, which is always cool. FKA Riker took round 2, and then Five Cocks and a Hare showed that they're a team to be reckoned with every week by taking rounds 3 and 4. That's 2 wins in the last 3 weeks. They weren't lucky enough to pull that jackpot chip, so it will begin to build.

See you next Wednesday!

Classical, smassical.

Do you ever wonder why we don't play classical music at Pub Quiz? Here's an example from today:

Ed, who is on music this week, heard a fairly recognizable part of The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart. So, he started looking to grab the track. But when you look it up, it's a four act opera. And, depending on which version you were to buy, it's either broken into the 4 acts as "songs" or into many more smaller movements within each. So, if we grab a 15-20 second sample, is it from the whole opera? Is the title the act it's from? Or is it the smallest movement within the opera? That decision will affect the title and song length. And, we're just going to ask for the composer, since the "band" could be a ton of different options. And so, Ed moved on to something completely different. Find out where he went on Wednesday.

More Woo's Please

This week was a great week of Pub Quiz. Twelve teams went at it at the Santa Fe Basque. FKA Riker, Fire Squids and Los Jugadores Mas Finas all looked on their game in round 1. Woo Woo Woo Kenny Woo showed some real potential by grabbing rounds 2 and 3, while Riker and Los Jugadores faded. The Fire Squids hung tough though, and it was tie going into round 4 between Woo Woo Woo Kenny Woo and the Squids. Los Jugadores tried to claw their way back in, taking round 4 with a perfect 10, but the night belonged to Woo Woo Woo Kenny Woo. They took the win, and the night's jackpot! Congrats on both.

Thanks everyone that turned out for a night of great trivia. We hope to see you back next Wednesday.

Friday Recap on a Sunday

Let's recap:
Wednesday had twelve teams go after it. Four different teams won a round. We had a tie at the end. Five Cocks and a Hare won out over the Fire Squids, and despite some confident talk, they didn't pull the jackpot. Next week, 1 in 3 odds on the big prize. Join us at Santa Fe Basque.

They Just Keep Jugadoring.

We hope you had a good time Wednesday at Pub Quiz. Eight teams got into it for their shot at a week 1 jackpot. Several teams showed promise at the start, but rounds 3 and 4 separated the wheat from the chaff. That figurative wheat, Los Jugadores Mas Finas. They came within one half point of tying the highest score we've ever had in our 6.5 years of Pub Quiz. Congrats on that mix of big brains. Los Jugadores weren't lucky enough to pull the jackpot chip, so it will begin to build.

Come on out to Santa Fe next week for another great game of Pub Quiz.
