Welcome Back, and I Guess Goodbye?

Last Wednesday was a week 1 in our jackpot run, and one team was a bit ahead of everyone all night long. Phatalie Phare Well won rounds 1 and 4 with 9 points each, and did well enough in rounds 2 and 3 to stay in first all night long. Fredos All the Way Down gave it a good run, and joined 1st place after round 3, but their luck ran out and Phatalie Phare Well was our winner. However, they didn't pull the jackpot chip, so it will begin to grow like a friendship.

We hope you'll take your shot at a round, the game, or the jackpot on Wednesday night. As always, it's $5 a person, and teams of 1-6 people. Registration starts around 7:30, the game kicks off at 8.

No Pub Quiz 7/5

Just a reminder, no Pub Quiz tonight at the Santa Fe due to their vacation hours.  We'll be back on 7/12.

Is it a new canal?

This week at Pub Quiz was hot fire! Or, Ed was just sweating like it was. 8 teams registered for the game and went after a decent jackpot. One team took down two rounds, another team took the other two, but five of the eight teams were within 2 points. Three teams actually tied for second place. The game was won by A Man, A Plan, A Canal, Panama, but they failed to snag the jackpot chip. Next week, it is a one in three chance at the jackpot. We hope to see you at the Santa Fe Basque.

Just a heads up, there will be no Pub Quiz on July 5th. The Santa Fe will be closed for their annual vacation week.

Over the course of seven-and-a-half years, we've used something in the neighborhood of 1400-1500 songs as round questions. Frequently, those songs get rotated into our background music. Also quite frequently, people hear those songs and ask why we never use THAT song in a round. Oh but we have, dear quizzers! But we understand you can't be at every game (not even Adam or Ed have perfect attendance).
So this week, we'll give you another crack at four of them. One each, from the last four decades, including the current one.

We All Feel A Little Sick

We had another fun week at Pub Quiz. Mildly Nauseous jumped out to an early lead and never surrendered it. They won 3 of the 4 rounds on the night, but not the jackpot.

For the big news of the night, Pub Quiz is going on vacation. NO QUIZ ON MAY 10TH OR 17TH. Yep, we're going to watch some soccer, and we think you should join us. Pub Quiz will be back on May 24.

The Finest Players in Fresno

Another week of Pub Quiz brought 6 teams out to show off their smarts. Alana is Satan started the night off with a round win, and I Broke My Nose Picking Finger ended the night with a round win, but Los Jugadores Mas Finas took the middle two rounds and the game. They also snagged the jackpot chip so congrats to them on their big win.

Next week brings a fresh jackpot and we hope you'll join us.

How Do Amish Electric Fireplaces Work?

Los Jugadores Mas Finas were on a run, looking to make it a whole month in a row of winning Pub Quiz. But early on, this game, and the rest of the teams playing showed that it wasn't to be. Three different teams took down rounds, and the trio of Amish Electricians showed they had the right mix of smarts on the night. They ended up with a 1.5 point lead, and a high score of 27 points. That's a little lower than usual, but that was still enough to get the win. Sadly for them, the jackpot chip was on rumspringa, and ran away. Next Wednesday, the jackpot will grow a bit more, and there will be 1 jackpot chip along with 2 loser chips in the bag.
