Double win

Congrats to Picard Requests Commander Ryker to Update his Log for winning last Wednesday's game with a whopping 36 points. They also won the jackpot, so double congrats. A duo named I Heard it was Consensual pulled out the round 4 win, so you'll see topics from them in a little over a week. That's right, no Pub Quiz this week (7/13) because Landmark is closed for vacation. See you all on 7/20.

Alana Is Satan dominates but the jackpot rolls

Alana is Satan won two rounds including a round four win on their road to victory. They drew a red chip though so you'll want to make sure you stake out a table next week before the Landmark closes for their regular summer vacation in two weeks. Yes, that's right, no pub quiz on July 13th so you better get your fix this coming week. And, you'll want to study these topics for round two so you can have the best chance of winning:

1. Fresno Punk Rock
2. Kurt Vonnegut
3. Statistics
4. Ecology
5. Micro-Brewed Beers
6. South East Asia
7. X (band)
8. Montreal Expos
9. 1980 Oakland A's (seriously, just that one year)
10. Poker
11. Kevin Smith Films
12. CAKE (band)
13. Netherlands
14. US Civil War

Make sure you study Netherlands, not nether regions or you'll be ill-prepared for quiz night (though you might be prepared for some other night). See you next week!

Music Twist!

Okay folks, Adam is throwing a twist into next week's music. He's going to try to come up with some leitmotifs (probably from film and television, maybe from video games) for your music. You'll have to guess the film, the character (or group of characters) represented by the motif, and the length of course. Just a heads up!

Don't know what I'm talking about, need an example? The music that plays whenever Jaws appears or is about to appear on screen, that's the shark's leitmotif. Your answer would be Jaws, Jaws, and a length.

A big first jackpot was not claimed, and rolls over to next week. Will regulars show up early next week to claim their favorite spots? They better - first come first served with no reservsies. Here's hoping our new players give everyone a run for their money. But they have to win the game, and with these proposed topics from round four winners, Alana is Satan, we wish you good luck.
